As we gain greater prominence on the Internet and in the media, we are finding that there are a growing number of inaccurate rumors about our mission and purpose.  Let this page CLEARLY spell out what we stand for and against.

We do support:

• The belief that former offenders, who have served their time, been through treatment, and have shown through years of no offenses whatsoever that they should be able to live peaceful and productive lives in society, should be allowed to do so.
• Improving the well-being and safety of children across the nation as well as the betterment of all citizens as a whole.
• Laws that protect children from any harm, sexual or otherwise.
• The United States Constitution and its Bill of Rights in the protection of all citizens from overreaching governmental power.
• Involving law enforcement when a child’s safety and well-being is put into danger by any person, especially sexual activities directed against any child.
• The due process clause as mentioned in the United States Bill of Rights for all citizens and not to be overridden by irresponsible punitive legislation.
• The equal protection for all citizens under the law as mentioned in the United States Bill of Rights.
• Expert opinion, hard facts, and empirical data when crafting new laws that may potentially affect the basic legal rights of entire sub-populations based on former criminal acts.
• The successful re-entry of former sex offenders into American society with all of the same legal responsibilities and rights; and economic and social accesses as any other citizen enjoys.
• News media that provides balanced, truthful and fair coverage of sex offender events.
• Dismantling the publicly accessible sex offender registries since it harms re-entry for former offenders into society.
• Reforming all sex offender laws so that only the most dangerous sex offenders are monitored and allowing the vast majority of former sex offenders to live lawful productive lives.
• Promoting the United States Justice Department statistics to help combat public ignorance and hysteria regarding former sex offenders:
• Registered sex offenders have VERY low re-offense rates as compared with other criminal categories.
• The vast majority of new sex crimes are likely to be committed by people who are not registered sex offenders today.
• The vast majority of sex crimes are committed by those in the family or by those who have access to the members of that family.

• Activities that hurt children in any form whatsoever – PERIOD.
• Any group that promotes sexual relationships with children whether in real life or through virtual experiences via the Internet.
• Violations of the ex-post facto provision of the United States Constitution and Bill of Rights in that those new laws should reach forward and not backward to re-punish those who have already paid their debts to society.
• Violation of the double jeopardy provision of the United States Constitution and Bill of Rights in that any person should not suffer twice for misdeeds already punished for.
• Fear and hysteria based news reporting that infects the public with ignorance, intolerance, and hatred.
• Sex offender legislation passed by the United States Congress and 50 state legislatures where myth, hysteria, fear and ignorance were the primary influencers in writing those laws.
• Legislative bodies that ignore their sworn oath to protect the Constitution of the United States by voting for laws that ignore or dilute the true meanings of our Bill of Rights:  Due process for everyone, equal protection under the law for everyone, avoidance of double jeopardy and violations of ex-post facto laws.

So once again, we at SO Clear Media Productions gratefully welcome your presence at our site, and frankly hope we can all work together for a solution that will leave our neighborhoods, our communities, and our country a safer place to live for ALL individuals... children, parents, and former offenders alike.
